Opening Night Announced!

The Oxford Film Festival is pleased to announce the lineup for its SIXTH ANNUAL FESTIVAL, February 5-8, 2009, which is now available on its website, via BSide.com.


First up, after a few introductions is DOUBLE DECKER CONFIDENTIAL, the new film written, directed and starring Oxford's Thad Lee (October, The Red Dawns, Mantis Rhes) and Barton Segal (Sorry We're Open, Mantis Rhes) as two "volunteer detectives" trying to thwart a plot to disrupt the Double Decker Arts Festival.


Next is SUNSHINE CLEANING, a narrative feature starring Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Alan Arkin, Steve Zahn, and Mary Lynn Rajskub, and directed by Christine Jeffs. Adams, a former head cheerleader-turned-single mom, tries to open a cleaning business with her sister (Blunt), but soon discovers a more lucrative market: crime scene cleaning.


Finally, for those who like their humor in their horror, we have PSYCHO SLEEPOVER. Debbie has a bit of a problem: last year her boyfriend went crazy and she had to kill him with an axe. Now she’s sixteen, a misfit at school, harassed by her mother, and monitored by creepy psychologists. What’s a girl to do? How about a sleepover with some new supposed friends? And how about that escaped hoard of raving psychopaths—can they come over too?
