As we gear up for the Oxford Film Festival 2011 to be held at the Malco Studio Theater on Feb. 10-13, 2011, we thought we might introduce you to some of the people behind the movies we can't wait to show you.
Meet Take 5 filmmaker, Tim Harms, producer of "Sexting," starring Julia Stiles.
For the full schedule and description of the films, visit www.oxfordfilmfest.com.
Q. 1: In 140 characters or less, describe your movie and why someone should see it.
A: A rare short film from Neil LaBute featuring Julia Stiles dealing with a case of mistaken identity.
Q. 2: Biggest lesson learned in getting the film made? Best part in getting the film made?
A: Lesson: Don't shoot outdoors when you need 5 minutes of clean audio.
Best: Getting one clean 5 minute take.
Q. 3: Tell us about you. What is your movie making background?
A: I've produced two features, a spec TV pilot and handful of shorts. Currently working on my short film writing/directing debut.
Q. 4: What's your dream distribution plan for the film?
A: It's a short, so distribution options are limited. We would like for it to play on the (few) cable channels that screen shorts and perhaps include it as a bonus feature on a DVD of a film by the same director.
Q. 5: What does the future hold in store for your film and for you?
A: After Oxford, "sexting" will play in a few additional select festivals. From there, I am working with the same writer/director on an upcoming feature film as well as features with other directors and my own short.
