As we gear up for the Oxford Film Festival 2011 to be held at the Malco Studio Theater on Feb. 10-13, 2011, we thought we might introduce you to some of the people behind the movies we can't wait to show you.

Meet Take 5 filmmakers, Miles B. Miller and Joshua H. Miller, Directors/Writers/Producers, of "Pillow." For the full schedule and description of the films, visit www.oxfordfilmfest.com.

Q. 1: In 140 characters or less, describe your movie and why someone should see it.

A: “Pillow” is a Southern Gothic film centered around two brothers who will stop at nothing to please their overbearing Mother. The story introduces us to "The Brothers" and the voice of their ever-present "Mother" who screams demands and insults from an unseen bedroom at the top of the staircase. Amongst her many demands is a new pillow. On the journey to fetch her prize, they encounter “a miracle” that ultimately holds the key to all their worries. The story of Pillow is Southern Gothic to the core. Incorporating elements of Fantasy, it pushes the boundaries of the genre while remaining true to its darkest roots. With its high production value and unique stylization "Pillow" promises to deliver a unique experience that will satisfy the darkest appetites of the viewer.
Q. 2: Biggest lesson learned in getting the film made? Best part in getting the film made?

A: Shooting a film is highly valuable in terms of the education you can take away. As with any production there should be lessons learned. In fact, there better be lessons learned! Specifically with “Pillow”, we learned that you can never be over-prepared. Plan for every possible scenario, and always have a plan for rain! Also, don’t fall in love with shots. If you’re locked into a specific shot and you have trouble getting it, it can eat away your day, and with it your budget. If it’s not working, move on! The best part of getting a film made is watching the finished product after all the hard work is behind you.
Q. 3: Tell us about you. What is your movie making background?

A: Our background is mainly in producing. We have been involved in a producer role on several projects, both together and apart from each other. We have enjoyed success on the writing side as well. (Josh) I co-wrote and produced the short “Miles From Home” which premiered at the ’07 SXSW Film Festival. I also Executive Produced the award winning feature “Etienne” which won a special jury prize at CineVegas 2009, and played at the ’09 Oxford Film Festival. 2010 ended on a high note with a film I produced “Looking for Lurch” being nominated for “The Festival Genius Audience Award” at “The 2010 Gotham Independent Film Awards”. (Miles) I have focused on my writing in the past, but have produced 4 shorts over the past 2 years, including “Antiquities” which has received great attention on the festival circuit. It will also be screening at Oxford this year. See it!!! We are very proud of our success in Arkansas, holding 3 “Best of Arkansas” awards and an “Audience Award” at The Little Rock Film Festival.
Q. 4: What's your dream distribution plan for the film?

A: Distribution was never part of our overall plan for this film. In the past it has proven difficult to secure distribution with a short…not impossible, but very difficult. We understand that there are new opportunities out there and we plan on exploring all options. Regardless, we hope to have a strong festival run and meet other filmmakers along the way.
Q. 5: What does the future hold in store for your film and for you?

A: “Pillow” was an exercise in preparation for our feature. The script is done, and we plan on shooting in Arkansas this fall. It will be a contemporary Southern Gothic piece.
