Oxford Film Festival teams up with Celery Studios and Boys and Girls Club for free film workshop for kids

Oxford Film Festival  along with the generous offering of the filmmakers Nitin and Deepak Mantena of Celery Studios and partner Barksdale Boys & Girls Club of LOU Community will host a free children’s filmmaking workshop on May 22 for children aged 8-12.

Students will work as a team with experienced filmmakers to develop their own movie on Saturday, May 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“It is always exciting to me when younger people show interest in the arts. Taking advantage of free workshops like this could help them gain more perspective on making movies,” Nitin Mantena said.

Papa John’s Pizza of Oxford has generously donated a pizza luncheon for the students. Yoknapatawpha Arts Council has also donated refreshments. Registration is limited to 20 Boys and Girls club members and 10 non members.

Registration for the program is now open here.
