Special Screening: Oh Mr. Faulkner, Do You Write?
A special, one-time only screening of Oh Mr. Faulkner, Do You Write? at Malco's Oxford Studio Cinema will benefit the Fifth Annual Oxford Film Festival (2008), currently in production.
TUESDAY, APRIL 24 @ 7:00pm. [Ticket link coming soon.]
Filmed over three performances on the University of Mississippi campus at the Gertrude Castellow Ford Center for the Performing Arts during the 2004 Faulkner and Yoknapatawpha Conference, John Maxwell's one-man show based on the life of William Faulkner was captured on HD by filmmaker Jimbo Barnett, a Meridian native.
In a rare visit to Faulkner’s study, we get a glimpse of the literary giant and Nobel laureate’s character and psyche. The story is set in 1950, as Faulkner ruminates on his past and ponders if he should indeed accept the Nobel Prize for Literature that was awarded to him.
